Case studies

Harmsen, Farleigh Court

The Brief

After an extensive search for premises, we settled on an austere grade 2 listed former workhouse built in 1838. Using metamorphosis as a brief, we set about transforming the internal space into a stunning, open, human and communicative environment.

The Headlines

  • 19th Century Grade 2 listed building
  • Challenging 3 storey interior space
  • Full height atrium
  • Glazed floors

The Result

Light penetrates every corner of the new space. The three levels, connected via an atrium and areas of glazed floor enhances communication and interaction. Great design combined with a flexible IT infrastructure ensures future expansion and the varied demands of the business are met.

The project was awarded the British Council of Offices National and Regional 'Best Small Workplace Fit-out'.

Antony Wild (Operations Director) and Terrey Rishworth (Senior Designer) are seen below accepting the BCO award on behalf of The Harmsen Group.
