The Harmsen Group proceeds to detailed design stage, on the prestigious Hargreaves Lansdown Headquarters building at Bristol Harbourside.
The Harbourside office designs include striking features such as a spiral staircase covering five storeys, a balconied atrium, and a low energy chilled beam system in place of conventional air-conditioning.
Set to be one of the city's largest office developments, able to accommodate up to 1 000 staff when it's completed in early 2010, the design underlines the company's unique style and culture, with meetings on the move, no private offices and definitely no executive frills.
The Harmsen Group has made many changes to original plans. As well as the striking staircase, we have also included an open, balconied atrium to link workspaces, created a more pleasing work environment and increased air flow; a doubled height reception area to make clients feel more welcome, better toilet provision, more efficient disposal and recycling of waste.
